This particular shard ranges in thickness from 1/4" thick to just over 1/4" to 1/2" thick. They are beautiful handmade pottery pieces broken up, ALL FLAT, some have the beautiful glazes on both sides, but are still very easy to use for mosaics. The colors are vibrant, some are textured just as the picture shows what is in the 2 pound bags. Each bag contains approx. 25 to 29 pieces of the colors and some different textures, sizes range from 2" to 5" plus, as shown, per bag. Coverage is a square foot and more when larger pieces are broken up. You can cut them with a ceramic tile nipper, plier/scorer also to make even more pieces. They also go very nicely with thicker tiles such as our 2" square Prism® glass accent tiles that are 5/16"  thick and wonderful for use with ceramic tiles or stone.
